Carlton de Cannes
a rouvert ses portes

Après 7 ans de travaux d’embellissement dont
deux ans et demi de fermeture, l’hôtel Carlton
situé sur la Croisette à Cannes a retrouvé tout
son lustre. L’établissement considéré comme
l’un des fleurons de l’hôtellerie française
depuis son inauguration en 1913 a pourtant
été relégué au cours des dernières décennies
à l’ombre de l’hôtel Majestic, situé en face du
palais des festivals, et de l’hôtel Martinez,
rénové en 2018. Le Carlton a été acquis en
2014 par le groupe qatari, Katara Hospitality,
propriétaire de la marque Regent Hôtels and
Resorts. Le groupe a investi 350 millions
d’euros pour cette restauration d’ampleur, qui
a mobilisé 750 personnes et 450 entreprises.
Le projet a été confié à Vinci Construction,
l’architecte Richard Lavelle et le décorateur
d’intérieur Tristan Auer. La transformation
s’est déroulée dans le respect des codes
architecturaux du style Belle époque pour
cet édifice inscrit au titre des monuments
historiques depuis 1984. À l’intérieur dans
les parties communes les décors d’origine ont
été redécouverts : moulures, dorures, lustres
à pampilles et colonnes de stuc marbré ont
été restaurés par des compagnons et arti-
sans, dont certains œuvrent au Château de
Versailles. Le comptoir du bar est recouvert
d’un puzzle de pièces de céramique raku et
illuminé de chandeliers en verre Murano. Deux
nouvelles ailes, une piscine, un fitness, un
spa et un jardin méditerranéen en patio font
souffler un vent de nouveauté sur la Croisette.
