Le Printemps des Arts à l’heure américaine

Pour cette édition 2023 du Printemps des Arts, Bruno Montovani a renouvelé la thématique « Ma fin est mon commencement », guidant le
public des premières aux ultimes uvres d’un m me créateur. Avec cette fois-ci la volonté de miser sur des compositeurs qui ont été peu
joués dans l’histoire récente du estival. « ous aurons l’occasion d’écouter l’intégrale de l’ uvre pour violoncelle et piano de Gabriel auré
par Aurélien et Denis Pascal, les dix Sonates pour piano d’Alexandre Scriabine par arduhi eritsyan ou de voyager à travers l’immense corpus
pianistique de ranz Schubert avec Michel Dalberto, artiste à qui sera consacrée une carte blanche », liste le directeur artistique du estival,
sans oublier « un concert consacré aux grandes fresques vocales et orchestrales de elix Mendelssohn ».
La programmation fera également la part belle
à la musique américaine afin de « montrer la
diversité de ce pays, notamment à l’époque
contemporaine ». De « la monumentale Troi-
sième Symphonie d’Aaron Copland » au « chef-
d’ uvre « City Life » », en passant par « un
hommage au plus fran ais des trompettistes
américains, Chet Baker ». Conférences, tables
rondes et « after » informels où artistes et pu-
blic pourront échanger librement, masterclass
des solistes invités… Cette nouvelle édition
sera enfin, comme toujours, riche en surprises.

Le Printemps des Arts: American Dreams

For the 2023 edition of the Printemps des Arts, Bruno Montovani has
chosen the theme, My End Is My Beginning, guiding the audience from
the very first to the very last works by each artist. This year, the focus
is on composers whose works have not featured much in the recent
history of the festival. “There will the chance to listen to all Gabriel
Faur ’s pieces for piano and cello, performed by Aur lien and Denis
Pascal, as well as Alexander Scriabin’s 10 piano sonatas, played by
Varduhi eritsyan; and concert pianist, Michel Dalberto, will be given
carte blanche at the Printemps des Arts and will perform pieces from
the vast array of works for piano by Franz Schubert,” the artistic director
tells us, adding, “There will also be a concert dedicated to the choral © Lyodo Kaneko
works and orchestral pieces of Felix Mendelssohn.” Quatuor Diotima
There will also be a fair amount of American music
in the programme, “highlighting the diversity of
the US, particularly in the contemporary music
period, with Aaron Copland’s monumental Third
Symphony and the masterpiece, uiet City, plus a
tribute to trumpet player, Chet Baker, a musician
whose love affair with France is well-known.”
